Atelier Hellsten is an on going personal project, where I express my passion for ceramics, photography and crafts. The look and feel reflect my preferred aesthetics, and this will be playground for that.

Yö(tön) (‘Night(less)’) series is a homage to the night, when one can’t sleep. It is a passion project, created from sleepless nights and insomnia.

The rough clay, dark as night, is coated with a silky moon white glaze to create a combination that makes you want to touch it, to feel it, to sense it.

Since the materials are all-natural, they have their own will, and it’s not possible to control how the material will behave in the kiln. This, and the fact that each piece is made by hand, makes them unique and special.

These pieces are grounding, and with their weight, they remind you of your existence. The brand photography reflects this stillness with the peaceful and calming, yet assertive atmosphere.
